Jan was born and raised in the Netherlands. He graduated from the University of Groningen with a Masters degree in Business Administration, majoring in Finance. In 1982, Jan and his wife Alette immigrated to Canada where he started a financial planning practice that same year. Jan and Alette have three adult sons, and have moved back downtown after living on the North Shore for 20 years. Jan enjoys playing soccer and golf, and he and Alette like to hike together in the beautiful outdoors of B.C.

Thérèse is a native Vancouverite and has spent her whole life on the beautiful West Coast of B.C. She achieved her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from UBC and her Associate Certificate in Financial Planning from BCIT. Thérèse has worked together with Jan since 1997, receiving her CFP (Certified Financial Planner) designation in June 2000. She is currently working on her CIM (Chartered Investment Manager) designation. Thérèse has two sons and continues to live in the same Vancouver neighbourhood where she grew up. Along with her partner Neil, she is an avid mountaineer and hiker. Together, they enjoy many adventures in various mountain ranges from BC to South America.

Pieter was raised in North Vancouver, and currently lives in downtown Vancouver. He graduated from the School of Business at Capilano University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. While completing his degree, he ran a residential painting business on the North Shore for two years. He started his financial career working for one of the “Big Five” banks in 2008, and was excited to join the Giezen Soong team at the beginning of 2010. Pieter is a Level II Candidate for the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. He enjoys sports, especially watching the Canucks and Whitecaps, and playing soccer and golf.
