About Us

Jan was born and raised in the Netherlands. He graduated from the University of Groningen with a Masters degree in Business Administration, majoring in Finance. In 1982, Jan and his wife Alette immigrated to Canada where he started a financial planning practice that same year. Jan and Alette have three sons and live on the North Shore in the Deep Cove area. Jan enjoys playing soccer and golf, and he and Alette like to hike together in the beautiful outdoors of B.C.

Thérèse is a native Vancouverite and has spent her whole life on the beautiful West Coast of B.C. She achieved her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from UBC and her Associate Certificate in Financial Planning from BCIT. After working together with Jan since October 1997, Thérèse received her CFP designation (Certified Financial Planner) in June 2000. Thérèse has two sons and continues to live in the same Vancouver neighbouhood where she grew up. Along with her partner Neil, she is an avid mountaineer and hiker. Together, they enjoy many adventures in various mountain ranges from BC to South America.

Pieter was born and raised in North Vancouver, and currently lives downtown. He graduated from the School of Business at Capilano University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. One of the highlights of his education was spending a semester at a university in the Netherlands. While completing his degree, Pieter ran a residential painting business on the North Shore for two years. He started his financial career working for CIBC in 2008, and was excited to join the Giezen Soong team at the beginning of 2010. Pieter is a Level 1 Candidate for the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
